Good naval story

Les Eldridge is producing an excellent set of books depicting the naval side of the Civil War. The story line deserves 5 stars. Les' encyclopedic knowledge of his subject intrudes just a bit. But to me, that is OK. This is a part of the war that has never been well covered giving more opportunity to surprise the reader. If you liked the Aubrey/Maturin series you will likely enjoy this.
