A team of scientists is tasked with the exploration of an unusual asteroid orbiting our solar system. Their mission is shrouded in secrecy and made more mysterious by the multifaceted personalities of the team. The irksome Dr. Gray uncovers only bits and pieces of the mission's multi-layered objectives and allows his maverick nature to help him fill in the blanks, while also adding some of his own objectives to the mix. Working with - and against - each other, the colorful crew of the Argo find themselves exploring much more than what their mission briefing proposed. The discovery of a domed structure and its alien technology propels them through space and time in pursuit of their mission goals. Their individual needs and desires compel them as well: Selflessness disguises selfishness, authority masks incompetence, practice is camouflaged by theory. At each step, the consequences of their choices and actions increase exponentially. Theirs becomes the work of lifetimes.
