Grandpa Jarvis is a boatbuilder and grew up in Southwest Harbor. Grandma Susan cares for the home and makes teddy bears. The children enjoy spending time with their grandmother whom they call "Nana." She often reads to them and takes them on trips to her childhood haunts. Sometimes they cook family recipes together or go to the local wharf to eat lobsters. Sometimes they watch her make teddy bears or play with the teddy bears she has made for them.
