Part one of this illustrated color handbook is an introduction to the park by a local resident; part two outlines the natural history and geology of the park area; and part three presents reference material and a travel guide to the Grand Teton National Park area.
In a guide book showing lodging, food and general things to do, I recommend this to anyone traveling to Grand Teton National Park as a book to read before they go. In a concise format, the National Park Service does an excellent job of explaining the geology and natural history of the Grand Teton National Park, the wildlife and the history of the development and use of the park as a public resource. The geology is fascinating and you'll learn a lot about the shifting of plates as well as what erosion can do over time. The books also includes very good maps and wonderful pictures. An excellent primer that will whet your appitite to visit a beautiful National park.
