This book by a well-known British educator who successfully taught macramé and knotwork to generations of future Victorian housewives, is one of the basic books on 19th-century string techniques,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
So I bought this book because I thought it was a 70s macrame book, I figured it would be a little outdated potentially but that I could still get some useful info. Turns out its actually a reprint of an 1890s Childrens primer, it looks like it was written for teachers in the 1800s and intended for classroom settings. The names of the knots and patterns vary from current day as well. Its a fascinating bit of history but not necessarily a good book for beginners or people looking for easy to follow patterns.
