This wider series is no so much as a detailed commentary on the book of John, the gospel of John, but a reflection on some its pages. I have taken some bookends of the beginning and end of the gospel.

There are many portraits that John gives, which deserve thorough treatment in every case, so I have focused on just some of John's rich chapters. There are more chapters to discover and explore which in time, I may come back to, and so this is hopefully the first of a series of thoughts. Watch this space as they say
