My dearest daughter, I will never forget the day I nearly lost you. The day you learned the secrets that would tear our lives apart...Time stops for Jen when her beloved daughter, Gracie, is involved in a terrible car crash. Pronounced dead at the scene, it's a miracle when paramedics manage to then resuscitate the little girl. The relief Jen feels at Gracie's recovery is matched only by her fury at the driver of the car - her ex-husband's new girlfriend Ella. Jen has never trusted Ella, and now her worst fears have been confirmed. But then Gracie begins to tell strange stories about what she heard in the car that day, and what she saw in those moments near death. It's clear that there's something shocking hidden in Ella's past... but exposing it could tear all their lives apart. An emotional page-turner that will take your breath away. Perfect for fans of Jodi Picoult, Lisa Wingate and Kerry Fisher.
I like this author and this was an excellent psychological thriller. Loved the plot. However, religion and hocus pocus started being interjected into the story. It would have been fine without it. I am very atheist, so it ruined it for me. Also, the mom was a little over-board gushy about her daughter. Calling her "my love" every other sentence. It was just too much. I will continue reading this author's books because she is a good storyteller, but hopefully she will leave out all the church and God stuff. I tried to get in touch with this author but found no way to do so. Not because of the book but because her last name was my maiden name before I married. It's a rare name. My roots are from Ireland, Scotland and England, so the author and I have that in common. I am a genealogist and the first ancestor who can over from England had the last name CHILD, without the S. The author will be happy to know that I purchased all of her books, and this was the second one that I read.

Jill Childs is a new to me author.
I enjoyed Gracie’s Secret. It is full of ups and downs. A roller coaster of a read with eye popping moments for me.
I will surely be looking to read more of Jill Childs work!
