wide range of views

The book consists of [short] excerpts from 58 authors on the structure of the American body politic. The authors range from contemporary academics in political science to renowned people like James Madison and Alexander Hamilton. There is deliberately a wide span in time when these were written. Reflecting changing, or perhaps in other cases timeless, views. There are arguments about the relative powers of the different branches of government. As in whether the current arrangement properly reflected the original intent of the framers of the Constitution.
