This second edition of the Gospel's Encyclopedia following the first which was published in 2002, includes a number of additional articles to increase the capacity of the book as a ready reference tool for people of the Christian community and also for folk outside this faith who like to enquire at leisure. Born in Southampton in 1933, the author, a historian writes with a history aspect to serve the Christian system because research skills normal in this discipline often enable discoveries to be made: the books of the gospels deal in true actual events which occurred - it is not an epic. Rudge belongs denominationally to the Presbyterian allegiance, but the writing is generally extra-mural.
