Gospel Truths for the Family

This book was primarily developed for someone who seeks to share the gospel with others. It is a tool. It's purpose is first, to help equip a believer to better understand the gospel, and then to be a tangible resource while actually sharing with others. The book contains two features for each truth of the gospel it presents. Biblical Explanation: The first feature is a brief explanation of the gospel truth. This part of each section is a summary of scripture passages and verses that speak to the gospel truth. The goal is not to present a systematic or comprehensive explanation, but rather to point the reader back to scripture for even further study. I encourage the reader to use the Bible and other study tools to while they read through the biblical explanations. Illustration: The second feature of each section is an illustration designed to be a guide for discussion. Interact with the illustrations while sharing the gospel, particularly when you're with children and adolescents. Younger children who are not able to read and comprehend the explanations on their own, are still able to look over the illustrations. Without anyone reading to them, they can work through truths that have been previously shared and continue to grow in their understanding. I encourage you to even talk through the more intense parts of the gospel with young children. Engage with them on the tragic condition of sinful man apart from Christ The illustrations are not designed to merely be used to teach the particular gospel truth, but rather to be spring boards for biblical, gospel discussions. The best uses of this book will likely be in conversations that involve flipping between a couple different illustrations. These conversations often entail times of deep questions and answers. Whether you are a parent, teacher, or an individual sharing your life with the church body, the job of passing the gospel of Christ to the next generation is not a sprint; it's a marathon. Consistently teach the gospel over years. Each hearer must wrestle with it on their own and grow in understanding, and this can't start too early. It is my prayer that this will be a resource to help in this life-long endeavor.
