GOOD COMPANY by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was reeled in by the writing and thought provoking plot. This character study story revolves around Flora and Julian, a married couple who own a theater company. Flora learns her marriage isn’t as rock solid as she thought it was when she finds Julian’s “lost” wedding ring from fifteen years ago. Flora then re-examines her marriage, her friendships, missed opportunities, and pivotal decisions she’s made over the years. While I appreciate the story for what it was —a story of family, marriage, motherhood, and friendships— it was predictable, slow moving, and didn’t quite work for me. Rating: 3.5/5 ⭐️
