Felix Warren isn't interested in relationships. After last year's career-establishing performance, all he wants to do is cement his legacy as the beloved star runner on his college's track team, all while keeping his trans identity under wraps.
Everything changes when he meets Owen Fernandez, a reserved autistic boy in his year, and the two develop a budding friendship. When someone spreads a rumor that the two are secretly dating with the intention of embarrassing them, Felix and Owen make an unexpected decision- they'll pretend they really are a couple to prove there's nothing shameful about being gay, all without letting the backlash get in the way of Felix's track career.
But now that their relationship has been forced into the public eye, things are about to get a lot more complicated, especially as real feelings begin to emerge. The two boys soon find themselves tasked with the challenge of figuring out which parts of their relationship are real and which are fake, or risk losing everything they've built together.
