The electrocoagulation process was investigated in the recovery of silver and gold. The effect of pH and polarity change was studied in a batch electrocoagulation cell, using aluminum-iron electrodes. When working with the aluminum electrodes as anode without changing the polarity of the electrodes at pH>11, the recovery percentages of gold and silver increased. In the tests with change of polarity, the recovery percentages increased with the decrease of pH with the highest recovery percentage at pH=9.4, this is due to the fact that the iron electrodes are less passivated in this pH range.
