Medical Drama and Humor!

The first-time author has a remarkable way of weaving the seriousness of a doctor's training with the humor found in many life or death situations. I found the book entertaining and myself laughing out loud! It is hard to put down and leaves the reader wishing for more when the final page is turned. I think anyone who reads it will come away with both a "healthy" respect for the medical profession and a yearning to know what lies ahead for Dr. Mark Telfair and his lovely wife-nurse as their professional and personal lives continue!

Big City Emergency Room Humor & Drama

This book is a must-read for anyone who has even been to an emergency room, particularly in a large city like Atlanta. Patients and medical professionals will both enjoy the humor and the human drama in this book. It is both hilarious and serious and has a touch of romance. Anyone who grew up in the Atlanta area as I did will particularly love this book but its appeal is not all regional. The happenings in the Grady Emergency Room can be imagined in any large city in the United States. This is a most enjoyable read.

A humorous but serious account of an surgical intern's life

To Atlantans, Grady Hospital has been an essential provider of medical care to all but especially to the poorest citizens. This is as much a story about the patients as it is about the doctors, nurses and staff. The stories are funny but poignant, sad but uplifting, and well worth reading.

Going to the Gradies

This book will have special charm for people in the health care business. Also,Atlanta natives will love it. I am neither one but I still found myself laughing out loud. This one goes in my permanent collection.

What a Hoot!

Imagine the TV show M*A*S*H set in the racially tense 1960's era in the heart of the deep south. Trade the ineptness of the U.S. Military for the real "bubba system" workings and throw in a "green horn" pampered suburbanite and you cannot begin to imagine the cultural shock and humor derived! Excellent and fun to read and I would highly recommend it!
