Like stepping into a Halloween Hallmark movie!

Summary: Despite little things pulling me out of Going Home, the next sentence always yanked me right back into Becca's comforting world. Between the heartfelt characters, their complicated family drama, and the quaint small town, I loved every page. Full review: Going Home wasn't perfect; there were some grammatical errors, some of the dialogue felt stiff, causing it to seem chipped almost at a couple of points, and through roughly two-thirds of the book, it was at times hard to identify whose point of view I was reading. However, the story and characters had me devouring this book! Through it all, I needed to know more, and staying up later than I should to read just one more page, that obviously turned into another half hour of reading. The atmosphere was fantastic, no matter where you were, everything felt homey and welcoming, like a small town should. The extravagant lodge - the most prominent feature in Snow Valley, Becca's childhood home and cafe, or the festive town square were all out of a Hallmark movie. The character's emotions leapt off the page and had me ooh-ing and aw-ing, and kicking my feet with giddiness. I love how there were flashback scenes within chapters explaining different things from Becca's past relevant to the current scene at hand; the past and present intertwined perfectly with each other, flowing beautifully. Two chapters in, I already knew that I neeeeded the next two volumes in the Snow Globe Café series ASAP! And you don't know how loud I squealed when my hopes were confirmed that Sugar - the main character's daughter - and Sugar's best friend Emery are the stars of the following books. I am lucky enough to know the sweetest author of this book from our mutual love of Dungeons & Dragons. I can't wait to gush to her my love of her book, and to pick her brain about not only publishing but also her entrepreneurship in her other business too.
