Are you passionate to know what the Bible says about worship and music? Confused by the myriad voices trumpeting their opinions about worship and music? This book not only gives you a Genesis to... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Written for a Christian pastor or other church leader, this book is an indispensible study of worship and music. The book assumes the reader is familiar with theology, and is ready to follow Biblical truth wherever it leads. It is somewhat technical Biblically, but, thankfully, not technical musically. You will not get talking points for negotiating worship styles. You will get a methodical study of what God displays in Scripture as worship and the place of music (and to some degree, styles). If you are a Biblicist, and you are responsible for corporate worship, you will find this very helpful. Kurtz constantly points you to the Word to reshape your thinking. While he focuses on one passage at a time, he also provides long lists of passages for further study. My only criticism regards the publishing. There are occasional typos and repeated phrases. These are easy to figure out, however. A second edition would correct this. I found it helpful to read it slowly, in small segments, with an open Bible. It will serve as a desk reference hereafter. Reading it makes you very thankful that a person with a lifetime of knowledge and study has shared it with you. Great book!
