God's Word: Settled and Dependable

I have taken the steps to get to know Jesus Christ more and more each day in my walk with Him. I have come to realise that the more I get to know him the more I want like to know Him. The desire to know him and the hunger for that desire keep growing.I came to the conclusion that because God is His word, this desire will continue to grow more and more as I read his word and understand what He is trying to relate to me through his word. The inspiration was to look at how God keeps His word. This could be seen as promises. There are times we could be facing so much difficult trials that we may tend to believe God can do all things but maybe for others and not for us. In looking at God's promises to many starting from Adam, He has never changed. His word is still as potent as He is. He fulfills all His promises. The beauty of this is that He is able to make promises. The reason for making promises is that He always fulfills them. The Holy Spirit impressed on my heart to do a study on the book of Jeremiah. In calling Jeremiah into ministry, God showed him a vision, which is very significant to our understanding of God keeping His promises. God showed Jeremiah an almond tree in this vision. In pursuing my understanding of scriptures, I ask questions and apply my acquired knowledge on biblical hermeneutics while depending on the Holy Spirit for answers. I asked why did God show him an almond tree and not an orange or olive tree? In my research, I came to the understanding of how important God watches over His word to perform it. That was the essence of the almond tree, watchfulness. God compared that to what He does with His word of promise to us. Let us study and have the understanding of the power of God's Word and how He fulfills all His promises.
