God's mercy is always greater than our sins! King David, a man after God's own heart, sinned grievously. He committed adultery and had her husband killed. For many months, he lived in this backslidden state, probably still going through the religious motions. After God confronted him through Nathan, he confessed his sins and, amazingly, received immediate forgiveness. There would be lifelong consequences, though. Nevertheless, he was forgiven and his relationship with God was restored. God's Triumphant Mercy highlights David's godly sorrow and repentance, expressed in the fifty-first psalm. While we may not have sinned in a similar manner, we do well to heed his example when we've fallen into sin.
