God's Special Day

There is a famous painting entitled "The Truth Coming Out of the Well" by Jean-L on G r me (1896). According to the legend associated with this painting, two characters are presented; one named "Lie" and the other named "Truth." One day, Lie told Truth "Let's bathe together. For the water in the well is beautiful and cool." The Truth, being suspicious, felt the water and found that Lie's description was true. So, both Truth and Lie removed their clothing and entered the water. Suddenly, without warning, Lie jumped out of the well and fled away, dressed in Truth's clothing. The Truth pursued Lie in order to recover her clothing. But when the world looked upon the nakedness of Truth, it turned away with anger and contempt. The humiliated Truth returned to the seclusion of the well in order to hide her shame. Since then, Lie has run freely dressed in Truth's clothing, satisfying the wants and desires of the world. This legend captures the essence of this book. This book exposes the deceitful counterfeit of the ancient Serpent regarding God's Sabbath day, and how he has successfully used the pages of Holy Writ to deceive the unwary Christian. This is by no means a scholarly work. For I do not claim to be a scholar or teacher. Rather, this book is only a reminder of the pure and simple teaching of Christ and the early Church regarding the Sabbath of the Fourth Commandment; a teaching of which the majority of modern Christendom now rejects, or has somehow forgotten. It does not attempt to counter every opposing argument, but rather, points the reader to the plain text of the scriptures where the truth can be readily and prayerfully discerned. These rejected and forgotten truths will soon become the center of historic conflict within the modern Church. In fact, those who dare to proclaim and defend the truths discussed in this book will find themselves at fearful odds with the power and authority of the Church: so much so, that these truths just might revive the darkest ages of our past.
