After creating all things, GOD set aside a day called the Sabbath. GOD sanctified it because He had finished everything that needed to be made. GOD is a Spirit and not limited to time and space, so He never sleeps nor slumbers. The Sabbath was created for man not man for the Sabbath. Seeing far into the future, GOD knew that man's physical make-up would require a day of rest from physical labor. GOD used Himself as an example for man. Now that all things were created for GOD and by GOD, He took time to reflect on all that was made and declared everything 'Good'.
