Wonderful Devotional with such wisdom!

Such wisdom for every day living!

Mentors in a Book

Young women need other, wiser, women as mentors--and when they can't get them in person, books like this one are a wonderful aid. Marriage, parenting, and simply the stuff of living all cry for the practical advice between the covers of this book. If read every other day, the 175 mini-essays of this book would take a woman almost through the year. I found myself turning down the corners of several essays to go back and re-read. I'm now the mom of young adults, and though I wish I'd had this book about 15 to 20 years ago, I know I can recommend it to others now in the stages of life I've passed.

This devotional God's Purpose for Every Woman: A P31 Women's Devotional is wonderful - it seems to speak personally to me each day - many different topics, and all are relevant to today.

Easy daily read

I'm part of a small group that purchased this book for discussion. We each pick one reading each week and share with the group why it 'speaks' to us. The book is baesd on the daily e-devotions from Proverbs 31 ministries, which I love. They really hit home to me as a Christian Mom. It is a very easy read-only takes a few minutes per devotion. Great for Moms with little time. I only wish it provided more scripture to support the devotion--something to dive deeper if a topic really pulls you in.

175 daily readings from Proverbs 31 Ministries

This book contains 175 two-page readings aimed at women in today's world who only have a short amount of time for their devotions. Each devotion, written by several different authors from Proverbs 31 Ministries, includes a Bible reading, devotional words, a prayer and suggested application steps. The topics aren't in any particular order but cover most aspects of daily living, particularly with regard to relationships within the family. There are some helpful thoughts here but it sits very squarely in the 'middle-American housewife mom with five kids' mould which is not always entirely congruent with life in the UK and some of the suggestions and comments don't translate well to our culture.
