Retold in easy to understand language for young readers

Jill Gupta's The Great Bible Adventure is a collection of biblical stories about well-known bible people and events drawn from the Old and New Testaments, ranging from before Moses to the crucifixion of Christ. Each story is condensed and retold in plain, easy to understand language for young readers and peppered with colorful, mildly humorous illustrations by Mychailo Kazybrid. Some of the stories and pictures must necessarily refer to some dark events indeed (such as "Murder Most Foul", a simplified retelling of the events in Esther 1-3 which led to Haman's order of a massacre of Jews in the Persian Empire). Most stories have a Biblical Time Line which show when they occurred, and all have footnotes referring to the biblical passages from which they are drawn, the better to help astute young readers to graduate from this easy-to-intermediate level book to the Bible itself.
