The story is told through the eyes of touring musicians who don't want to grow up - and don't have to. Childish antics, bad puns, fart jokes, silly innuendos, and the archaic (or are they?) political controversies of the late 1990s are all vehicles used to explore the ways our innermost beliefs, in spite of our best efforts, inexorably manifest themselves in our actions often in ways that surprise us, and sometimes horrify us. At its core, "god's favorite band" is about the stories we tell ourselves; the false beliefs we ALL carry with us; why they're dangerous; how we can change them; and why we should.
