God's Eternal Purpose Regarding Man

The Psalmist, later quoted by the author of Hebrews, asked the question of the ages. What is man? God has an answer for this question which He gives in four phases declaring his eternal purpose for man. (PSALM 8:1-8) The problem is that man rebelled against God in the garden of Eden. God created Adam to rule and lead His creation (Gen 1:26), but sin disrupted God's plan for man. So God sent an intervention, a "visitation" on the part of God in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ.
