These are the two major implements used to imprison followers to the Christian Religion [of course, they also apply to Islam and to Judaism - the so-called Abrahamic religions]: 1) "God told me/us to tell you!" - the indirect approach. 2) "The word of God says!" - quoting men and calling them God. The first is as dishonest as the second, where it presents an almighty deity with a formidable collection of attributes, but posting a major character flaw: it is a god said to have a written message for you, but calling other men to have it delivered. Religious brainwashing of the most ominous quality.
