God of Superior Power

The strength of a man is determined by the power and influence he wields on a particular matter. Life is replete with struggles. Struggles of what to eat, where to go, what to do and boundaries to set for oneself and others. All these are the components of relationship where power is devolved. Power is the ability to do work. It is also the ability to control people and things. There are many forms of power - spiritual power, physical power, economic\financial power, political power, legal power, intellectual power, social power, native\traditional power, royal power and so on.
Spiritual power tends to have dominance over other forms of power. This is because the spiritual controls the physical (2 Corinthians 4:18). Satan contends with God in virtually all things concerning human endeavour. Contention is impossible without power. But God has superior power which He demonstrated over Satan in many circumstances in the Holy Bible. Right from when Abimelech, king of Gerar, hijacked Sarah for a wife, through the display of ephemeral power by Ahaziah, king of Israel, the battle of Carmel that eliminated many prophets of Baal, to the disgraceful attempt by Elymas to prevent the deputy of Paphos from accepting Christ, Satan stood against the works of God in the entire Bible.
In all the encounters however, God showed His supremacy and superiority over Satan to the extent that many of his contending agents got converted in the process. Though God caused delay in the conception of Rachel (Genesis 30:22) Hannah (1 Samuel 1:5) and outright refusal to heal Paul of his infirmity (2 Corinthians 12:7-9), He reversed the ones He felt should be reversed and handed over to humanity gifts (1 Corinthians 12:9-10) to continue the good works of reversing the works of the devil on earth. With the superior power of the word elucidated in this book, no believer should feel handicapped or intimidated in the battle against forces of darkness.
