Back of the book: The earth is round. Both sunscreen and the sun cause cancer. And I'm not wholly convinced that man has set foot on the moon... These are some of the topics that aren't covered in this book. But it talks about many others. God, Guns & Gardening covers history, corruption, prophecy within Christianity, Islam, and the Hopi Indian religion, and how it all might come to an end. Documenting a wide breadth of subjects was done to inspire curiosity in readers and to give them them something to pick up when they want to learn a little more about the odd, inspiring, or infuriating truths that govern our reality. Why I wrote it: When I first started working on this book it was titled Psychedelics, Guns & Gardening. I wrote it because I'd come to accept that there were forces of both good and evil in the world that defied logic. There was a spiritual realm; I just didn't think there was a religion that had defined it correctly. But I still had to look at what humans thought they knew for myself. And prophecy seemed like the place to start. So, I started studying the Hopi Indians of North America to begin with, because I'd heard their prophecy was uncannily accurate. From there I moved onto Islam. And finally, I stopped my broader studies after Christianity. By this point, I'd recognized prophetic patterns that seem to be playing out in modern times. More than that, I'd become convinced that prayer and meditation were close cousins, that the voice in our heads we identify as a conscious is much more, and that psychedelics were not the best way to explore the spiritual world. Meanwhile, I'd realized that corruption beyond reason was the norm for governments throughout history. And that people must be given a reason to break their trust in manmade institutions, which is why corruption is such a prevalent topic in this book.
