God Chose to Save: Why Man Cannot and Will Not be Saved Apart from Election

Who is in control of salvation...God or man?

In God Chose To Save, God's wonderful plan of election is explained in a clear and readable fashion. Rather than stacking a dizzying array of verses together to 'prove a point', the author carefully explains key texts as they pertain to the overall themes of the Bible.

Charitable, yet refreshingly honest, this book needs to be read by all Christians who desire a closer walk with the sovereign Lord of the Universe and who want a better understanding of the immeasurable richness of God's grace in choosing to save sinners.

"In God Chose to Save, author Joseph M. Bianchi presents a irenic, easy-to-follow discussion of the nature of the gospel and the necessity of God's gracious act of divine election. By raising thematic issues (rather than lists of texts), Bianchi invites the reader to consider well the consistency of their own view of the gospel. This work will find its place among those books we offer to others who have sincere questions about what it means to be Reformed." - James R. White, Director, Alpha and Omega Ministries

Clear and concise discussion of a controversial topic

This book plainly states that it is not intended to be the last word on this emotional topic. It presents a straightforward discussion of the relevant texts, and unapologetically presents them from the point of view of one who embraces the doctrine of sovereign election. While others have criticized this book as if it sought to be the "last word" on the subject, most of the criticism has come across as an emotional diatribe against its position, rather than a critique of the book, itself. If you agree with the author's view on election, you will find a clear and concise statement of this position, supported by appropriate references to Scripture. If you disagree with the author's view, an unbiased reader will find a logical and Biblically-based argument that will send you back to the Biblical texts to re-examine your views. As the author mentions at the outset, the book is not intended to be the last word on the topic, but to be a clear and straightforward analysis of the texts. In that effort he has certainly succeeded.

An Excellent Primer on election and Calvinism!

"For those who need a clear, understandable and lucid definition of the Doctrines of Grace, better know as the Five points of Calvinism, this is it! Bianchi's theological training and experience as a journalist really come through! He is easy to understand, and his profound yet simple exposition of God's Word will make every "free willer" who is lauding Dave Hunt's abomination, What Love is This? cringe in embarrassment at their own position. Honestly, it is really hard to understand after reading this book how anybody in their right mind could be an Arminian. This is the best treatment of the subject I've ever read. The book was given to me by a friend...I just could not thank him enough!!!"
