God, Can We Talk?: Learning How To Pray

Have you ever wondered how to pray so that God hears you? Want to know how to get your prayers answered more effectively? I want to teach some of the basics of prayer. This is something I wish someone would have taught me when I first became a Christian. I wanted to pray and get closer to Jesus, but I really didn't know what I was doing or how to get started. I bought a devotional on prayer thinking it would help teach me what I wanted, but instead it just had some short prayers from famous people without really explaining how to really pray. It was like because I got saved, I should automatically know all this. I felt very frustrated because I could not find many resources, if any, specifically on prayer. I was hungry to pray like I found in other new believers. A need to connect more with your Savior and hear Him speaking to you. You have to learn how to hear His voice and how He speaks to you. Prayer and reading the word is vital for this to become a reality. I longed for teaching and resources to help me understand how to pray, how much I should pray, how to pray for different things and how to get my prayers answered. I want to help you avoid the frustration I had and give you ways to understand this vital aspect of our faith and why it's so important. Prayer is a deep and vast subject that covers a lot of territory in the Christian faith. It can often be intimidating to many believers because it is such a broad subject with so many facets like how to pray, when to pray, how much to pray, intercessory prayer, personal prayer, corporate prayer... the list goes on and on. Understanding the basics of prayer starts with knowing what prayer really is. I'm going to define what prayer is, explain why it's so important, teach you what a prayer life should look like and give you some info on how to have a better prayer life.
