What has life been like for me?I am the son of Jewish immigrants, who fled Russia to escape the cruelty of the Czar. The cruelty was a mixed blessing. It led our family to America, which was the best thing that ever happened to the Jews.My parents were very much the same as the Irish, who came before them and the present-day Asians and Hispanics. They all want the same thing, a better life for themselves and a brighter future for their children. My parents fled from Russia, the homeland of their ancestors for hundreds of years. The Russians originally invited the Jews to come to their country because of their skills in writing and finance. Over the years, the czars became like the pharaohs of Egypt who "knew not Joseph". They enslaved the Jews into poverty. The last straw was when the Russian army took young Jewish boys to use as cannon fodder in their battles. The book is written in the form of short stories depicting different phases of my life. Read the book and learn about the following phases of my life: My childhood in St. LouisFamily moving to Denver, San Diego, and finally Los AngelesRoosevelt High School, UCLA, and University of CaliforniaMeeting and marrying my high school sweetheart, DoreenSurgeon in a military hospitalPrivate medical practiceMy day in the officeMeeting and talking to GodAnd many more subject
