Two different worlds collided as Sr. Kevin and Irena Sendler's ministry began in the 20th century. Despite working more than 4,000 miles apart from each other, these two women helped the weak and those who were on the periphery of society. Mother Kevin served children who were neglected by their families, including blind students, frail women, and youngsters from the gutter. Irena Sendler, a Polish woman during World War II, saved around 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto. The compassion that poured out of each of their hearts is still what drives many individuals to help and support those who live on the periphery of society.
