Goblin by Eric Grissom & Will Perkins
(Graphic novel)
This is the tale of a young goblin on a quest. Goblins are hated by everyone, called disgusting and evil. But, of course, that's just racist stereotyping - the real evil. Our poor goblin must find a way to keep his heart from being poisoned by the hate.
Pretty much a predictable hero's journey, but there's a reason those stories have been our stories since storytelling started. They speak to our psyche and reflect the pattern of life - or at least our hopes.
It's beautifully told, beautifully drawn, uplifting, and has topical messaging. It's now a personal favorite.
