In 1919, at the age of seventeen, Milton Sippel left his upstate New York home and headed west. He was looking for adventure and a job and found both with the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey. Several years later, he returned to the West Coast, this time traveling with two other young men as part of the Student Gospel Trio. The other two boys set out to convert the world while Milton figured he could do that while visiting a few old girlfriends along the way. Many old photos provide a glimpse into this grand adventure.
