This paper examines how global processes affect working conditions in social work. It explains the economic and political aspects of globalisation and relates them to working conditions in social work. Processes at the micro level, i.e. working conditions, are related to global events at the macro level. Assuming that working conditions are linked to processes of globalisation, the following question arises: To what extent does globalisation influence working conditions in social work? In addition to describing working conditions in social work, the study includes explanations of the terms globalisation, neoliberalism, liberalisation, deregulation, privatisation and flexibilisation. Particular attention was paid to the presentation of privatisation and flexibilisation and the associated precariousness and deprofessionalisation of jobs in social work.
