Glittering Trauma

Trauma is like glitter...It sparkles for all to see and never truly goes away. Yet, there are ways to learn how to live with the shiny specks, embracing them as part of who you are. Life with Trauma means grabbing the light and emerging from the darkness within. Follow my journey from birth to present times as I divulge the hurt, pain, and love I've endured. My story isn't about fame and glory, but it is relatable. Unfortunately, 30% of all children will experience at least one Adverse Childhood Experience (ACES) before the age of 18 ("Adverse Childhood Experiences," 2022).

Additionally, 14% of all children will experience two or more ACES ("Adverse Childhood Experiences," 2022). The more ACES a child experiences, the more likely they struggle with mental, emotional, and physical health. My ACES score is 8/10. If I can be resilient, you can, too!
