Glimpses of the Inner Life of Christ

This book was written in 1876 by William Garden Blaikie, D.D., LL.D. who was a Free Church of Scotland minister. In this book he opens up the Scriptures to display the inner person of Christ. When Christ, the eternal son of God, coequal with the father, became man, he became the perfect embodiment of manhood. If we want to experience the Christian life at its deepest level then we need to study and meditate on the inner life of the person of Christ. It was Professor John Murray in his work, "Redemption Accomplished and Applied" that said "the Scripture regards the work of Christ as one of obedience". It was our Lord's devotion, delight, and harmony with the Father's will that was the motivating and governing principle of everything he did. If we desire to walk as he walked then the same must be true of us. If I could have but one book besides the Bible in my library, this would be it.
