Glimmer of Hope

One summer night Ree sat on the edge of the curb. Her head hung down as she stared at two brown feet in summer sandals. Suddenly, a voice spoke saying, " Look up"! The seven year old lifted her eyes heavenward and glistening stars shown brightly overhead with revelations from God. One glance heavenward launched Ree on a personal journey of discovery. God gave Ree revelations concerning the gospel in the stars. He opened her understanding to the message in stone found in the Pyramids of Egypt. But most importantly, God showed himself to be her God of hope. Ree needed hope that only God could provide, darkness had invaded her world on Henry street in West Oakland, California during the 1950's.There was addiction, abuse, and inner city challenges to be overcome. God saw Ree where she was and Jesus came to sit with Ree on the curb of life in the dark. He is sitting beside you too saying, "Look up, Discover the light of hope in me! I alone can give you positive expectation of good. Things won't stay the same, I am making your future bright with hope."
