A Hidden Gem

A great read. Reminds me of Ira Levin's "The Boys From Brazil". Fisher has an acute eye (pen) for the twists and turns of espionage while injecting historical facts that bring them to life. I envision him as being the alter ego of the protagonist while sharing a Pimm's Cup or Negroni with a British plantation manager in Malaya. A very convincing prose for one who has a disdain for colonial aloofness and first-hand understanding of cultural motivations and differences. I'm now enjoying Fisher's sequel: "Secret Empire".
