Giving in all circles of life had produced some contentions, culminating in large organizations and well-knitted societies splitting into factions. The church had not been an exception. The church experienced her fair share of such conflicts over the years. Some of these conflicts in some churches could have been averted if proper and adequate biblical principles and knowledge were applied. Various reasons could be ascribed to these ugly scenarios. One of these reasons could be too much demand for money, while the other could be the attitude of demeaning those who could not meet the quota set by the church. Unfortunately, I have seen and heard some church leaders who are stuck to the status quo, though its outright wrong. This idea of I need ten people to give me (stated) amount. Its popularity is encouraging these leaders to apply it as the way of collecting money in the church. The Bible stipulated only these ways to collect money in the church of God. These are first fruit, tithing and offering, or what others call collection. The offering must be named, say, Building offering, Love offering, Pastors Appreciation offering, Funeral offering, Mens Ministry offering, Childrens Day offering, etc. Why our refusal to just obey? The dilemma here is offering had been reduced to mean only small value of money be given when it is called for. Instead of thorough teaching on the subject of giving, it is left in a vacuum. This book fills that vacuum.
