Girl of My Autumn Dreams: Reflections on Love and Devotion

By Keith G. Balser

Book Overview

The poems in this book reflect the author's preference for traditional rhyme-and-meter verse forms, particularly the sonnet and the villanelle. The major sonnet subcategories -- Shakespearean, Spenserian, Petrarchan, Terza Rima -- are explored, plus a few alternate "Balserian sonnet" rhyme schemes the author has devised. Expressive variety within the villanelle's exacting structure is also explored. The author hopes that poetry devotees will find this book enjoyable, and that students/practitioners of traditional verse forms will find it helpful and encouraging.
