A portion of the proceeds of this book go to STAR Institute for sensory processing. Thank you for your contribution. Daniele Ippoliti is a writer, illustrator, artist, earth fairy, and Mother of two neurodiverse boys. With characters created from her nature photographs, Daniele writes stories that empower children to handle the trials and tribulations of being Uniquely Perfect with perseverance, courage, and love for oneself. Ginger's Great Discovery is about a giraffe who has wobbly legs and just wants to be like all the other giraffes who walk tall with elegance and grace. With a little help from a small giraffe and a mean crocodile she discovers she is perfect just the way she is. Ginger's Great Discovery is the first in a series of "Great Discovery" children's books, which was inspired by Daniele's oldest son. When he was younger he had intense sensory processing issues that made it hard for him to be "in" the world because he wasn't "in" his body. Physically he struggled because of this and emotionally he struggled because he felt he was different and just wanted to fit in. He found relief with OT and Daniele instilling in him that we are all uniquely different and our differences are gifts to ourselves and the world. The last page is a, "I Wonder" page. It is filled with Wonder questions so you can engage with your little one beyond the story and encourage the development of social emotional skills. All images and illustrations (except the Africa photographs donated from family for this first book) are created by Daniele including the cover, back cover, art pages, and illustrations. We hope you enjoy the beautiful story and illustrations of this 32 page book. Keep your eyes out for the next "Great Discovery" book to come.
