Ginger Betty

You will love Ginger Betty - she's great fun. She's a bit like Granny Bev and bit like 'shop' Gran - straight to the point in a roundabout way She runs a small ginger beer making factory across the back yard from the family grocer's shop. She loves popular fiction and reading plays.

Her passion is to direct in the theatre and she joins the Salcombe Amateur Dramatic Society known as SADS. This is her chance to write and produce a play, 'Inspector Hector Investigates' with the help of her friends.

There are lots of fun adventures: sailing on the river, finding a stowaway and rescuing a chicken - all good stuff. She changes from being aimless and bored of work to being dynamic with lots of ideas. She certainly changed the lives of those poor families flooded out in the terrible spring storms of 1902.

I don't know what you will make of Arnold but he is for real. He is demanding and very sure of his needs. He will climb on the shed roof if he has to. Oh, and by the way he's a cat.
