Good Book

My best friend from Middle School wrote this book. I re-connected with her after her accident & never really knew what she went through "internally" until I read this book. It is written from the heart & soul. She has been through a battle to survive & get on with her life and has come a long way with a great attitude.... she is a true survivor.

An Amazing book!

It is a great book to read even if you have never had a similar experience. There are so much to learn from all the hard reality she had to live through, and probably those reality exists... as we go to hospitals, as we deal with horrible insurance companies, etc. I highly recommend reading this book, email her your thoughts and get to know her :)

this memoir is for survivors & their loved ones

Surviving Your Survival - the title says it all

I've been a fan of Alisa Christensen, the actress, for many years. She had a string of small parts in big movies and big parts in small movies throughout the 90's and had an interesting career as a stuntwoman, filmmaker, actress & Playboy model. A camping accident brought all of that to an abrupt halt. Choosing to remain single, Alisa had to conquer recovering from being a burn victim, as well as the system, from her hospital bed. A system of red tape, incomponant doctors, and bitchy nurses. A system that was mostly interested in her insurance number, and not her recovery. You'll also get an insiders look at Hollywood - from lucky breaks to being plagiarized by the creators of Queer As Folk. It's all here, the good and the bad. Is there a happy ending? Read and find out.

good read

It was interesting how the author wove stories of the past and the present while telling the story of her tragedy. She brings to life the pain she endured along with the resilience of her spirit. PJ Hey
