John 'Gillie' Gillespie, an elderly widower, was born and lived his entire life on several hundred acres of prime farm land, originally settled by his ancestors in Dublin, Ohio. Gillie refuses to accept today's modern conveniences by continuing to draw his own drinking water, planting his own garden and preserving its harvest. This includes making and drinking a special veggie juice daily which has been the norm for generations. The Gillespie's veggie juice fights and eliminates body diseases, cures the incurable, and has been a closely guarded secret that has never been shared outside the family circle. That remained true until Gillie hires and befriends 12 year old Bradley, and learns the boy is dying of leukemia. His heart won't allow him to turn his back on his new friend and for the first time, the Gillespie's veggie juice is shared. This aging farmer's secluded life becomes snarled and overly complicated as word of his veggie juice spreads; bringing a host of requests, demands and threats for the juice and its recipe. Gillie's sheltered and private world quickly becomes open season to predators.
