From J. Kaye's Book Blog

As much as I try not to judge a book by its cover, sometimes it can't be helped. That was the case with GILBERT DE LA FROGPONDE. Looking at the cover, I just knew it was going to be good and I was right. Gilbert, an enormous, adorable frog, encountered two gourmet chefs who wanted to add him to their menu. Using his finesse, Gilbert convinces the chefs to alter their cuisine plans. The artwork combined with this Gilbert's charming story will captivate young readers as well as old ones - like me.

Gilbert de la frogponde

This book is wonderful for kids of all ages (and adults, too!). Gilbert is quite a quick-thinking frog! I loved how he squirmed his way out of being captured by the frog hunting chefs! What a creative story! The illustrations were very colorful and entertaining as well. We LOVED it!

This is THE best!

I have to say that even as a college student, that this is my favorite book! Where was this stuff when I was a kid? Gilbert is hilarious!

An absolute treat for my whole family

Gilbert de la Frogponde is absolutely hilarious for my 22 month old son, my wife, and myself. The story is sweet and innocent, without being syrupy, the characterizations are perfect, and the illustration is the piece de resistance. I highly recommend it!!

The kids love this book almost as much as I do!

This is an excellent book, full of whimsical ideas that my children (ages 5 and 7) have enjoyed over and over agian. We find something new to laugh at each time we read it. The illustrations of Gilbert's dishes are great, too.
