"Gift of Change" is Science Fiction with a light hearted mood. The main character, J, is retired military and a genious engineer. J and his partner, lady pilot F, run an independent space ship freighter. As the book opens, J is an incompetant alcoholic with spurts of genious; but a dying alien reveals that these problems were all artificially imposed by someone when he left the military -- and that this someone has sent a military ship out to kill him & make it look like an accident. This book is light hearted and cheerful, fast paced and full of surprises. Very quickly, J recovers his wits, and his spurts of genious are well portrayed. There is little character development and no drama whatsoever; instead, expect alien ruins, a funny talking ship, and light hearted adventures. This small press publication has a few missing or misplaced commas. The quality overall is much higher than the average $7.99 mass publication. The first few chapters can be read on-line at iUniverse. Enjoy!
Shadows of Heinlein

In middle school I read every Robert Heinlein book in the library. Reading The Gift of Change took me back to those days of future fantasy. It's not a long book, but carried me along with unpredictable twists and an engaging narrative. A little on-line research turns up the interestiung fact that both Heinlein and Sanders were naval officers. I look forward to the sequel.
Sci Fi meets Battle Tech

If you like Farscape, Star Trek and/or Babylon 5 you will like this book. The descriptions of technologies used and battlefield awareness are very compelling making it difficult stop reading. Interactions among the crew and ship provide some insight but tease you along to find out more. Enough of the details are there to put together what's taking place but not so many that your minds eye can't fill in visuals and the environment. (Like the red-head!)

Written in a classic SF style that keeps you glued to the book. I could not put it down and had to read it in one sitting. I look forward to many more sequels.

A great fast, fun read. It takes me back to the "classic" si-fi from the fifty's. I highly recommend it!
