The Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary in Rome celebrates its 25th year and this book is a little contribution to share the stories of some of the cat's past and present as well as giving some insight into the amazing work they do on a day to day basis in their campaign of sterilisations across Rome. Founded by two beautiful ladies Lia and Silvia who had the strength of a lion and the imagination not only to dream big but to also make that dream a reality. Gianburrasca was a cat from the shelter and he was a massive influence and inspiration in my life. I am so grateful to have known him. I write this book to honour his memory and the profits of every book sold will be sent to the Torre Argentina to help other cats who are just like Gianburrasca. His life was a gift and through him we can always find ways to help others. I am delighted to always say his name and more than happy to talk about him to anyone who has the time or patience to listen to me. This book gives voices to those cats who were once his friends in the shelter and some others who would have become his friend had he still be there with them today. Here I tell you their stories and honour the ones we have lost over the past months through sharing the personal tributes which were written for each one of them. Every cat is unique and special in its own way and it is only fitting that they are celebrated in life as well as death. We are lucky for the ones who come to us allow us to know them, and they become part of our lives. Every cat is special but Gianburrasca was my special one. For that I am eternally grateful and always will be. I believe he is always watching us, smiling down on us with a happy heart. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much I have enjoyed writing it. I hope it brings a smile to your face and if you do shed a few tears just remember all the cats inside this book were loved and always will be. Through your support of the Torre Argentina more important work can continue and most importantly we can continue our sterilisations which will save other cats from the terrible injuries which most of the cats who come to us have sadly suffered.
