When the Second World War broke out, he joined the US Army's 3rd Armored Division, where he was nicknamed 'Limey' by two friends he'd endure battle with--Trix and The Greek. From the desolation of Omaha Beach to the Battle of the Bulge, they spent the next 11 months dodging gunfire, disarming landmines and liberating towns as they drove the Nazi Army from France.
