While visiting her sister, Farah, in Richmond, Virginia, Hannah sends a wire to the James brothers, Frank and Jesse, requesting their assistance in freeing her newlywed husband from jail for a crime in which he was falsely accused. The James brothers hold up their end of the bargain, but then decide to take Hannah and Farah for themselves. Hannah's new husband is soon killed, leaving her alone with Frank James.
