....this books is wonderful. It sets the imagination on fire. I read this in 6th grade (1986) on the advice of a peer and didn't regret it. Indeed, I read it several times over. Today I ordered it for my daughter who I know will love it as much as I did. I'm glad to see it still out there and at a reasonable cost for an out-of-print book. ;o)

This book is a real chiller, I couldn't put it down until I finished it! Eve Bunting wrote this ghost story with astounding ability. I really felt like I was reading about someone's real life. However, I was a little disappointed when you didn't find out what happened to Vicky and Ted at the end. When Vicky, a girl that had died in a car crash, witnesses the thirteenth person to go over "Departure Point", she is determined to find a way to stop accidents like that from happening. She meets up with another ghost by the name of Ted, who was another victim of the dangerous cliff. They become fast friends along with Ted's other friend Rebecca. Unable to communicate with the living, they all are agreed that something has to be done about all the accidents caused by "Departure Point", but are unsure on what to do. Rebecca, haunted by the past, decides that she can't "live" with what she did that caused her death. I can't go on any further, because to tell more would rob the reader of the surprise ending.
